“Have you cleaned your filters?” It’s Andrew’s favourite question — and for good reason. A clogged filter is the single most common reason a good air conditioner suddenly cools poorly and costs more to run.
What a dirty filter actually does
When filters clog with dust, your system has to work harder to move air. That means higher power bills, weaker cooling, more strain on the unit (shortening its life), and dusty, less healthy air pushed around your home. Near the coast it’s worse — salt and grime build up faster.
A regular service pays for itself
A professional clean and sanitise clears the filters and coils, kills mould and odours, and restores airflow — so the system runs cold, quiet and efficient again. A yearly service also catches small faults before they become expensive repairs, and helps protect your manufacturer’s warranty.
What you can do yourself
In peak summer, pop the front cover and rinse the filters every few weeks — it makes a real difference. Leave the coil clean, gas check and sanitising to us.
